Building Traffic to Your Website

There are many ways to generate internet traffic to your website or webpage. Among the paid traffic sources are:

Pay-Per-Click Programs like Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and MSN Marketing. In these programs, you create a small ad, associate it with certain 'keywords' and your ad will be displayed free of charge whenever someone searches the Internet using one of your keywords. Only if someone actually clicks on your ad and comes to your site do you then actually pay from 5 cents to about $1 for the visitor. These campaigns can be very effective, but the cost can easily get out of hand if you are not careful.

Purchased Leads You can elect to buy traffic to your site from one of several lead vendors on the Internet. This too can be effective, but care must be taken to ensure that the traffic is targeted to those looking for a company like yours.

Classified Advertising There are many, many places on the Internet where you can place a classified ad to bring traffic to your site. This can be one of the most cost effective methods in getting visitors to your site. Look under the Resources and Links department to locate many sources of classified advertising.

Bulk Email You can purchase email lists from one of several list vendors and have your email sent by them for a fee. You must be very careful to deal only with "Opt-in Email Lists," where those being emailed have elected to receive email solicitations. If the email list is not an Opt-in list, avoid them at any cost or you will risk having your website shut down for violation of the CAN-Spam Act. You DO NOT want to be a spammer!

Solo Emails Many members rely solely on a program of continuously sending out emails to a safe-list as the main traffic generator for their business. This can be very cost effective and even fun. You will find sources of safe-lists in the "Resources and Links" Department

Banner Advertising You can pay to place your company's banner ads on various Internet sites which are appropriate. These are relatively inexpensive, but you will need the ability to monitor their effectiveness to ensure that your advertising dollars are being well spent.

There are many more ways to get traffic to your site, but you should begin with these to get your feet wet first. These paid traffic sources will have you running out of the gate like a rabbit.

If you would like to win the race like a turtle instead of a hare, there are several proven inexpensive methods for getting people to your website. Among them are:

Blogging You can setup a keyword focused blog on the Internet without cost, produce a small article each day that directs visitors to your site. By publishing your blog to several directories each time you update it, you will be generating many hundreds of links back to your site. This will not only help you get traffic directly, but the added links will help your site gain in popularity and in its ranking with the search engines.

Article Marketing You can write a 500-700 word article about your experiences and publish it to one of the popular ezine directories, such as www.ezinearticles.com. Along with your article will be a 'Resource Box' that contains information about you and links to your website. Like Blogs, as your articles are spread in a viral fashion around the net, you will gain direct links to your site and improvement in your search engine ranking (which will give you long-term, continuing traffic.)

Videos If you produce a short (1-2 min) video on your experiences and publish it to You Tube, MySpace and other video directories, you will gain many links to your site.

Forum Particpation Search the net and find active forums on your niche and join them. After you participate in the active discussions on the forums and are treated as a contributor, then add your URL link to your signature or profile page.

While there are many more ways to generate free traffic, all of the above methods really do work and cost virtually nothing to do. Regardless of how you get traffic to your site, it is critical that you capture the email address of your visitors to enable you to continue marketing to them should they not join at the first opportunity. Marketing studies have shown that the average person does not buy into a network marketing program until they have been exposed to it more than 6 times!

YOU MUST CAPTURE THE EMAIL ADDRESSES and setup a follow-up system to continue marketing to them. You paid for the traffic, directly in cash or through your efforts, so you need to take full advantage of it by setting up an autoresponder follow-up message sequence.
